Yuhuang Chemical Inc. (YCI) Awards Detailed Design Engineering Contract for its World-Scale Methanol Unit in Louisiana

YCI has awarded Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions, US Inc. detailed Engineering and Procurement Services for YCI’s 1.7 million tons per year methanol plant located in St. James Parish, Louisiana. Under this agreement, Air Liquide Global E&C Solutions will also provide YCI with procurement services for long lead and other equipment required for the $1.85 billion world-scale methanol manufacturing complex. “With an overall goal to complete this plant in early 2018, starting work on detailed engineering now is important and timely,” said Jerry Oliver, Vice President of Manufacturing, YCI. “We are excited to work on this portion of the project with such a reputable US firm.” Read More on the Web

Yuhang Chemical completes St. James land purchase

China-based Yuhuang Chemical Inc. announced early today it has finalized a land deal to buy 1,300 acres in St. James for the construction of a $1.85 billion methanol manufacturing complex. The announcement marks the completion of the deal announced on July 17 by Gov. Bobby Jindal and Yuhuang Chemical CEO Charlie Yao. Yuhuang Chemical is one of 13 subsidiaries of Shandong Yuhuang Chemical Co. Ltd. YCI Secures Long Term, Firm Natural Gas Transportation Capacity on Louisiana Project

Yuhuang Chemical Inc. (YCI), announced today it has secured long term, firm natural gas transportation capacity on Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line (Transco) for YCI-M1, YCI’s $1.85 billion world-scale methanol manufacturing complex. Located on property recently purchased by YCI along the Mississippi River in St James Parish, Louisiana, YCI-M1 is a methane to methanol plant designed to produce 1.7 Million metric tons per year of commercial grade methanol. To ensure deliveries of YCI-M1’s natural gas needs, YCI and Transco have executed a 20-year agreement for firm transportation capacity from points in Transco’s Zone 3 encuesta mundial to a new delivery interconnection with YCI-M1 to be constructed and operated by Transco.
